Moving on from Public Folders

Like many firms, Fentress organized project email in Exchange Public Folders. But with support for Public Folders ending, they started looking for an alternative.

"Public Folders had served us well, and we wanted a replacement that was simple and cost effective" says Leif Thomas, Fentress Director of Information Technology. "TonicDM was very easy to implement and offers a lot more than our previous Public Folders system."

Simplicity is Value

When re-evaluating their previous project information management solution, Mazzetti looked at Total Cost of Ownership and realized their costs were very high and benefits were low because of complexity.

"It's not just that we had to run our own server and manage the software ourselves" says Mike Rinken, Mazzetti+GBA Chief Information Officer, "but the software was too complex for staff to use effectively. We found only a small fraction of the software we were paying for was actually being used. With TonicDM, not only have we eliminated all the system administration costs, but our staff have learned the system quickly and are able to take full advantage of it."
